Every Fall, the upland pine forests of South Georgia near Thomasville come alive. The low brush rustles as dogs weave through. Bright pops of orange move in an early morning mist through a near-endless expanse of towering pines, one almost identical to the last, gently leaning and rocking in the sharp wind, their slick needles whispering.
